October 2, 1990: On the road with KISS and Slaughter, Winger performed in Bismarck, North Dakota. The music video for power ballad "Miles Away" had just hit MTV and the track would debut on the US Billboard Hot 100 on October 13th, rising to No. 12 in January 1991 to become the band's biggest hit.
October 1995: Def Leppard released single "When Love & Hate Collide" from their first greatest hits album "Vault". October 1997: David Lee Roth released his autobiography "Crazy From The Heat", the cover shot taken at the same location as the 1985 EP in the Seychelle Islands. The book was a US bestseller.
October 1992: Ahead of the release of their sophomore album "Hear!", Trixter issued lead single "Road Of A Thousand Dreams". That same month, the band would join Faster Pussycat and KISS on the "Revenge" Tour. Release information source: The Hard Report radio trade publication ad - October 2, 1992.
October 1988: Kerrang! reported that Krokus sacked singer Marc Storace after he refused to perform at a Swiss open air festival while on holiday. He was replaced by Björn Lodin and Peter Allan, but returned to the band in 2003.
October 1985: All-female hard rock band Precious Metal released their debut album "Right Here, Right Now" in the US, dubbing their sound as 'metal-gum'. Guitarist Janet Robin received guitar lessons from Ozzy guitarist Randy Rhoads. Release information source: Kerrang! - October 17, 1985.
October 1989: Winners of Metal Hammer Magazine's newcomer of '88 award, German melodic rockers Pink Cream 69 released their debut album, featuring single "One Step Into Paradise". October 2, 2020: Bon Jovi released their 15th studio album "2020", originally scheduled to be issued in May but was postponed due to the global pandemic. Release date source: Blabbermouth.net - July 23, 2020.
October 2, 2023: Vixen released the single "Red". The band worked on the song with former Cinderella drummer Fred Coury... "It's pretty energetic.
