October 1988: In the US, Def Leppard became the first band to sell seven millions copies each of back-to-back albums with "Pyromania" and "Hysteria". And they're still going with "Pyromania" over 12 million and "Hysteria" 20 million plus. Billboard Magazine ad - November 12, 1988

October 14, 1989: Mötley Crüe's fifth studio album "Dr. Feelgood" hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and remained there for two weeks. That same day the Crüe launched the "Dr. Feelgood" Tour in Essen, Germany.

October 1992: Warrant released the "The Bitter Pill" as the second single from the album "Dog Eat Dog". The track features an operatic interlude, performed in German by the "Moron Fish & Tackle Choir" (security guards, engineers, janitors, and others who had been available at or near the recording studio). Billboard Magazine noted "Jani Lane is in strong voice and will likely enjoy increased comparisons to Jon Bon Jovi".

October 1990: "Only a fool believes / It's better to have loved and lost / Than never to have loved at all"... Vixen released "Love Is A Killer" as the second single from the album "Rev It Up". Remembering Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero, who would have celebrated a birthday today (October 14, 1959). A.J. died in 2015. R.I.P.

October 14, 1985: Autograph released their second studio album "That's The Stuff" in North America featuring singles "Blondes In Black Cars" and the title track. October 14, 1985: Having built their reputation and success as a live band, Triumph released their first live album "Stages" in North America, culled from the band's previous three tours (1981-84), plus two new studio tracks including "Mind Games". October 14, 1991: The second single from Van Halen's third album with Sammy Hagar, "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge", was rising fast on the American rock chart and the debut of the music video on MTV would propel "Top Of The World" to No. 1.

October 14, 1991: Starting out in St. Louis as a cover band called Broken Toyz, they changed their name to KingOfTheHill and from their debut album released single "If I Say" in the UK. Release date source: Kerrang! - October 12, 1991.

October 1975: KISS released "Rock And Roll All Nite" as the only single from the "Alive" album, but that's all they needed to climb another level. The studio version issued in April that year was a moderate hit on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 68, but the live version reached No. 12 in January 1976. October 14, 2022: With new frontman Erik Grönwall, Skid Row released their sixth studio album "The Gang's All Here" featuring the title track. Release date source: Blabbermouth.net - May 25, 2022.
