Happy Birthday to Sammy Hagar [Sammy Hagar, Van Halen] (October 13, 1947).
October 1986: A number one hit in multiple European countries over the summer, "The Final Countdown" single from the band Europe was finally out in North America with the music video hitting 'Breakout Rotation' on MTV the week of October 29th and the song getting played on rock radio. October 1984: Van Halen released "Hot For Teacher" as the fourth single from the album "1984". The music video starring "Waldo", the awkward boy with large glasses and bow tie was a huge hit on MTV, but only reached No. 56 on the US Billboard Hot 100. October 13, 1992: From their forthcoming album "Keep The Faith", Bon Jovi released the title track as the lead single in North America (one day earlier in the UK). Written by Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Desmond Child, it was a No. 1 rock hit in the US. October 13, 1990: Warrant's second studio album "Cherry Pie" peaked at No. 7 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Featuring Top 40 hits "I Saw Red" and the title track, plus Top 20 rock hit "Uncle Tom's Cabin", it's the band's highest charting LP.
October 13, 1984: Dokken's second studio album "Tooth And Nail" debuted at No. 116 on the US Billboard Top LPs & Tape chart. Singles "Into The Fire" and "Just Got Lucky" made it popular with rockers, but power ballad "Alone Again", drove the LP into the Top 50.
