October 12, 1987: McAuley Schenker Group released their debut album "Perfect Timing" featuring singles "Love Is Not a Game", "Follow the Night" and "Gimme Your Love", the first US Billboard Hot 100 hit for guitarist Michael Schenker.

October 1988: Poison's record label "was reluctant to release the mostly acoustic, country-tinged" "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" as a single, but urged by Bret Michaels they did, and in December that year it hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. October 1983: With Mötley Crüe's "Shout At The Devil" album in stores, American rock radio stations were kicking the tires on single "Looks That Kill" and MTV would add the music video to its rotation by the end of the month.

October 1991: After charting back-to-back US Top 10 rock hits with "Wind Of Change" and "Send Me An Angel" from the "Crazy World" album, Scorpions issued the latter as a single to Top 40 radio. For all the hair bands that made it, there were many more that did not, like L.A. sleaze sensations Brunette, who were working with members of Slaughter and supposed to star in a movie in 1989. They were never signed. -Kerrang!

October 12, 1985: Poison, featuring frontman Bret Michaels, bassist Bobby Dall, drummer Rikki Rockett and new guitarist C.C. Deville, who replaced the recently departed Matt Smith, played the second of two nights at The Troubadour in West Hollywood with opener Warrant.

October 12, 1990: On the road in Canada, KISS brought the "Hot In The Shade" Tour to Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario with special guests Winger and Slaughter.

October 12, 1987: Mötley Crüe's "Wildside" was the most requested music video on MTV and the hair bands held five of the Top 10 spots on the chart... Poison, Whitesnake and Stryper.

October 1987: Three months after the release of their latest album "Love Is For Suckers", singer Dee Snider left, the record label canceled its contract, and Twisted Sister disbanded. We would learn about it in January 1988. -Kerrang!
