October 10, 1987: Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again" hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. "Like a drifter I was born to walk alone" was originally "Like a hobo..." but changed not to be misheard as "homo". The single also reached No. 1 in Canada and finished No. 7 for the year in the US.

October 10, 1987: Europe power ballad "Carrie", from the album "The Final Countdown", peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Singer Joey Tempest has said there was never a real Carrie, "more of a general thing, actually."

Remembering Vixen guitarist Jan Kuehnemund, who died October 10, 2013 at age 59. R.I.P.

October 10, 1989: Produced by Don Dokken and led by singer Terry Ilous, French-American band XYZ released their debut album "XYZ" in North America featuring singles "Inside Out" and power ballad "What Keeps Me Loving You". October 10, 1989: San Francisco rockers Babylon A.D. released their self-titled debut album in North America (June 1990 in the UK) featuring anthemic tracks "Hammer Swings Down", "Bang Go The Bells" and "The Kid Goes Wild", the latter also featured in the film "RoboCop 2".

October 10, 1989: Rock singer Fiona released her third studio album "Heart Like A Gun" in North America (late October in the UK) and crossed into the hair band world with Kip Winger duet "Everything You Do (You're Sexing Me)". October 10, 1989: Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley released studio album "Trouble Walkin’" that includes "Hide Your Heart", co-written by Paul Stanley and also appearing on the new KISS album issued a week later. Release date source: Kerrang! - September 23, 1989.

October 10, 1987: KISS' 14th studio album "Crazy Nights" debuted at No. 57 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Singles "Crazy Crazy Nights", "Reason To Live" and "Turn On The Night" took it to No. 18 by the end of the month.
