September 3, 1991: While Bon Jovi was on a 17-month hiatus, guitarist Richie Sambora released his first solo album "Stranger In This Town" in North America (one day earlier in the UK) featuring singles "Ballad Of Youth", "One Light Burning" and the title track.

September 3, 1984: In the US, Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer and RATT, Twisted Sister, Y&T and Mama's Boys made it tough to say goodbye with a blowout show at Roberts Municipal Stadium in Evansville, Indiana.

September 3, 1986: David Lee Roth released "Goin' Crazy!" as the second single from his debut album "Eat 'Em And Smile", the would-be theme to DLR's then-planned movie. It wasn't to be, but the music video received heavy airplay on MTV. September 3, 1987: Mötley Crüe with special guests Whitesnake brought the "Girls, Girls, Girls" Tour to the Civic Center in Huntington, West Virginia. Crüe had just been hit with a lawsuit by a woman claiming to have suffered “severe hearing dysfunction and mental anguish” after attending a Mötley Crüe concert with her daughter in St. Petersburg, Florida almost two years earlier. The band's insurance company eventually paid the woman $30,000.

September 3, 1991: Led by singer Terry Ilous, French-American band XYZ released their second studio album "Hungry" in North America featuring singles "Face Down In The Gutter" and power ballad "When I Find Love". September 3, 2021: Memphis rockers Tora Tora released single "Trip The Light Fantastic".

September 3, 1989: Now available at Tower Records, Issue 3 of Rock 'N' Roll Comics featured Bon Jovi, that included a reference to the band's 1985 tour opening for RATT.
