September 29, 1990: Warrant's second studio album "Cherry Pie" debuted at No. 33 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Featuring Top 40 hits "I Saw Red" and the title track, plus Top 20 rock hit "Uncle Tom's Cabin", it would rise to No. 7 two weeks later.
September 29, 1990: Written about a crush on model Cindy Crawford, Nelson hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with their debut single "(Can't Live Without Your) Love and Affection".
September 29, 1986: At the urging of bassist Billy Sheehan, David Lee Roth released a Spanish version of his debut studio album "Eat 'Em And Smile (Sonrisa Salvaje)". Roth speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese, but Spanish-speaking audiences were reportedly less than impressed with some of the liberties he took with the language — "gringo Spanish," as one critic put it — and the album tanked, falling out of print for years before being reissued. -UCR. Dokken filmed a lavish, big budget music video in London for "Into The Fire", the first single from the "Tooth And Nail" album, and that video began playing on MTV in the US the last week of September 1984. -Kerrang!
September 29, 1990: Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars married singer Emi Canyn, who also sang background for Crüe on the "Girls, Girls, Girls" Tour and contributed vocals to the "Dr. Feelgood" album. They divorced in 1993 and Emi died in 2017. R.I.P.
September 29, 1990: As they were touring with Don Dokken, Trixter made their debut on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart with "Give It To Me Good", the first single from their debut album "Trixter". It eventually peaked at No. 29.
September 29, 1989: Headliner Cinderella brought the "Long Cold Winter" Tour to sunny Southern California with support from Badlands and Tangier.
September 29, 1985: Mötley Crüe brought the "Theatre Of Pain" Tour to Tulsa, Oklahoma with special guests Loudness. Five days earlier, Tommy Lee called Heather Locklear from Bloomington, Indiana during a day off and held the phone next to his left forearm... She heard the hum of a tattoo needle as it etched a big black rose ribboned with Heather’s name into Tommy... Aww.
