September 13, 1979: Just signed to their first recording contract with Phonogram Records, Def Leppard embarked on a UK tour opening for Sammy Hagar in Newcastle, England. Three nights later they were playing Hammersmith Odeon in London.

September 13, 1986: A month after its release, Bon Jovi's third studio album "Slippery When Wet" debuted at No. 45 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. By the end of October it would hit No. 1 and remain there for eight weeks.

September 1989: Lee Aaron released her fifth studio album "Bodyrock". Led by Canadian Top 25 hit "Whatcha Do To My Body", the LP went nearly 3x platinum. Her most successful to date, it reached No. 21 on the Canadian album chart and was nominated for two 1991 Juno Awards ("Album Of The Year" and "Rock Album Of The Year"). September 1991: Lead single "Don't Cry" was generating major buzz for the two new albums from Guns N' Roses, titled "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II", due for release on September 17th. R&R radio trade publication ad - September 13, 1991

September 13, 1985: They didn't win anything; Hell, they weren't even nominated, but that didn't stop the hair metal party at the 1985 MTV Video Music Awards... Mötley Crüe's Vince Neil, RATT's Stephen Pearcy and Bon Jovi frontman Jon Bon Jovi.

September 1988: Dokken were featured in Circus Magazine. The band toured as part of the "Monsters Of Rock" Festival over the summer with Van Halen, Scorpions, Metallica, and Kingdom Come. Recordings from their April '88 tour in Japan led to the release of a live album from Dokken titled "Beast From The East" in November that year.
