Late August 1990: Ahead of the release of their new album "Cherry Pie", Warrant released the title track as the first single. The guitar solo was played by Poison's C.C. August 25, 1984: RATT's "Round And Round", the first single from the album "Out Of The Cellar", peaked at No. 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The music video with a cross-dressing Milton Berle is essential hair metal viewing.

In Japan, "Round And Round" was voted "Best Tune Of The Year" by readers of Burrn! Magazine. "Note; the Japanese flying star and 8 ball were a couple things picked up on stage from one of our tours." -Stephen Pearcy

August 25, 1986: Vinnie Vincent Invasion released their debut album in North America (August 22nd in the UK) with singer Robert Fleischman, who left the band prior to filming of the music video for "Boyz Are Gonna Rock". August 25, 1992: Warrant released their third studio album "Dog Eat Dog", the last with all five original members and featuring aggressive single "Machine Gun", plus power ballad "The Bitter Pill". August 1983: The EP "Quiet Riot – Live Riot" was issued in Japan with four songs recorded June 4, 1983 in Nashville, Tennessee on the "Metal Health" Tour including "Metal Health (Bang Your Head)" and "Slick Black Cadillac".

August 25, 1987: Shifting to a pop-metal sound, Aerosmith released their ninth studio album "Permanent Vacation" in North America (one day earlier in the UK) featuring singles "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)", "Angel" and "Rag Doll" that propelled the LP to No. 11 on the US Billboard 200. August 25, 1990: The "Monsters Of Rock" Festival that began a week earlier at Castle Donington in England with Whitesnake, Aerosmith and Poison, was now in Dortmund, Germany and called the "Super Rock Festival". DIO and Vixen were added to the bill for this event.

August 25, 1989: "The Summer's Greatest Double Header!!" was actually a Triple Play with Tesla, Great White and Badlands descending on Philadelphia for a really big show.

August 25, 1990: Jon Bon Jovi's debut solo single "Blaze Of Glory" from his debut solo album and the soundtrack for the movie "Young Guns II", was at No. 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the music video in heavy rotation on MTV. The song would hit No. 1 three weeks later.
