Hair Band History (August 24th)

August 1988: Cinderella released power ballad "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)" as the second single from the album "Long Cold Winter" in North America (January '89 in the UK). Their most successful single, it peaked at No. 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100 in November that year. August 1993: Loaded with hard rock acts, the soundtrack to the film "Last Action Hero" featured AC/DC and Megadeth, but it was the ballad "Two Steps Behind" from Def Leppard that rocked the charts, reaching No. 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

August 1987: His band living their "Glory Days", Jon Bon Jovi was on the cover of Hit Parader Magazine. Inside was also a chance for you to catch up on your other favorite hair bands: Dokken, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe and more.

Y&T's album "In Rock We Trust" produced their first big US rock radio hit with single "Don't Stop Runnin'" that was now being pushed by the band's record label to US Top 40 radio stations in this ad that appeared in an industry trade magazine on August 24, 1984.

August 24, 1992: English hard rockers Thunder released their second studio album "Laughing on Judgement Day" in the UK (one month later in North America) featuring single "Does It Feel Like Love?". It was co-produced by former Duran Duran and The Power Station guitarist Andy Taylor. Remembering Whitesnake co-founder and guitarist Bernie Marsden, who died August 24, 2023 at age 72. He wrote or co-wrote with David Coverdale many of the group's hit songs, including "Fool For Your Loving" and "Here I Go Again." R.I.P.
