May 9, 1989: Formerly known as Onyxx, they changed their name to Dangerous Toys and released their self-titled debut album in North America (December 4th in the UK) featuring singles "Teas'n Pleas'n" and Alice Cooper tribute "Scared".

May 9, 1992: Def Leppard's "Let's Get Rocked", the first single from the album "Adrenalize", peaked at No. 15 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It did even better in the UK, reaching No. 2, the band's highest charting single in their home country.
May 9, 1984: At the peak of their powers with David Lee Roth, Van Halen played the first of three nights at The Cow Palace in San Francisco. During "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", DLR led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday" to Alex Van Halen.
Lita Ford released her first live album "Greatest Hits Live!" in 2000, recorded during the "Dangerous Curves" Tour in 1991-92.
May 1987: Nearly a month after the release of their third album "Tell No Tales" in North America, Norwegian hard rockers TNT had sold over 75,000 copies and were making moves at radio with what turned out to be their biggest hit single "10,000 Lovers (In One)". May 9, 1988: Released a week earlier in North America, "All Systems Go", the second studio album from Vinnie Vincent Invasion with new singer Mark Slaughter and featuring singles "Love Kills" and "That Time Of Year", was now available in the UK. Release date source: Kerrang! - May 14, 1988.
May 9, 1987: After a 17 date tour of Japan a year earlier, RATT returned to the land of the rising sun for five more dates on the "Dancing Undercover" Tour, starting in Nagoya and concluding in Tokyo on May 15th.
May 1986: "Back In The Fast Lane", Van Halen with new frontman Sammy Hagar were on the cover of the latest Hit Parader in the US.
