March 18, 1983: Def Leppard launched the North American leg of the "Pyromania" Tour in Atlanta. The first 24 dates they opened for Billy Squier, then became headliners when sales of the "Pyromania" album took off on the strength of the music video for "Photograph" getting massive airplay on MTV.

March 18, 1983: Quiet Riot launched the "Metal Health" Tour with two shows at The Roxy in West Hollywood, California.

Remembering Cinderella guitarist Jeff LeBar, who would have celebrated a birthday today (March 18, 1963). Jeff died in 2021. R.I.P.

Happy Birthday to Dangerous Toys singer Jason McMaster (March 18, 1965).

March 18, 1990: Mötley Crüe and special guest Faster Pussycat performed in Lexington, Kentucky. That same night, Alice Cooper with opener Danger Danger played the first of four shows in Detroit.

March 1993: Damn Yankees released "Silence Is Broken" in North America as the fourth single from their second album "Don't Tread", which turned out to be the band's final single. March 18, 1991: Mr. Big released "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy (The Electric Drill Song)" in the UK as the lead single from their forthcoming album "Lean Into It". The song features guitarist Paul Gilbert and bassist Billy Sheehan running Makita cordless drills over their guitar strings in harmony to create an unusually fast solo which is likely not possible to replicate with hands. March 18, 1991: Scottish hard rock band The Almighty released their second studio album "Soul Destruction" featuring single "Free N’ Easy". In some circles the band has been labeled glam, but longtime fans aren't having it. Release information source: Kerrang! ad - March 16, 1991.
