March 11, 1989: Living Colour's "Cult Of Personality" made its debut on the US Billboard Hot 100. The band was red hot with a No. 1 video on MTV and the most requested track at rock radio. It peaked at No. 13 in May that year.

March 11, 1982: RATT had to perform under another name at the Troubadour in Hollywood because the owner didn’t like their name all of a sudden, so they changed it to "Gladiators". Shared by singer Stephen Pearcy on social media (see caption for more details).

March 1992: Guitarist Vivian Campbell, who was playing with former Foreigner singer Lou Gramm in Shadow Kings, had "emerged as red hot favourite to join Sheffield superstars Def Leppard for their forthcoming 'Adrenalize' tour." -Kerrang!

March 11, 1989: Guns N' Roses peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with "Paradise City". The first three singles from "Appetite For Destruction" ("Sweet Child O'Mine" "Welcome To The Jungle" and "Paradise City") reached the Top 10.

March 11, 1995: Van Halen launched the "Balance" Tour in Florida, dubbed the "Ambulance" Tour by Eddie Van Halen because of the hip and neck injuries sustained by himself and brother Alex. Van Halen brought a Jumbotron, only the second act to do so at the time.

March 1991: The third single from their album "Extreme II: Pornograffitti" launched Extreme to another level as "More Than Words" began the trek to No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, entering the chart on March 23rd and hitting the top spot in June. Following up No. 2 smash power ballad "More Than Words Can Say", Canadian rockers Alias released "Waiting For Love" as the third single from their debut album in 1991. It went on to be a Top 15 hit on the US Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 4 in Canada.

March 11, 1990: Supporting their debut album "Last Of The Runaways", Nashville hard rockers Giant played their first UK show in Milton Keynes, the first of four dates that included London's Marquee Club on the 15th.

You may see many posts on social media that Quiet Riot released their third studio album "Metal Health" on March 11, 1983. This is NOT CORRECT. An Internet search has shown that date, but that date originally came from Wikipedia (normally not a good source for release dates). The correct release date is February 28, 1983 (Source: US radio trade publication FMQB; February 18, 1983 issue new releases, see image... also Billboard magazine Feb. 19, 1983 issue, New LP/Tape Releases).
