March 1987: Stryper had just released "Free" as a single with "Calling On You" on the B-side. The "Free" music video began airing on MTV in the US in mid-March and dominated "Dial MTV". The "Calling On You" video was also a most requested.

March 1985: Kerrang! reported that Def Leppard were back to work on their next album that would become "Hysteria" and had a few songs titled (ie, "Armageddon It"). The band hoped to have the LP out by August that year 😌

March 10, 2015: Europe released their 10th studio album "War Of Kings" in North America. Later that year, the band was in a Geico commercial singing "The Final Countdown" in an office break room, as a microwave cooks a burrito... Ca-ching! 🤑 Release date source: Blabbermouth.net - March 3, 2015.

March 10, 1990: Following up the No. 1 "When I See You Smile", American/British rock supergroup Bad English peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with "Price Of Love". Exactly one week later, the band began a US tour with Whitesnake in Dallas.

Happy Birthday to Bon Jovi guitarist Phil X (March 10, 1966), who replaced Richie Sambora in 2016.

March 10, 1983: With Vinnie Vincent on lead guitar, KISS' "Creatures Of The Night/10th Anniversary" Tour landed in Houston. During this time, KISS were accused by religious groups of promoting Satanism and several protests were held outside venues.

March 10, 1991: Opening for Deep Purple, Vixen began a UK tour with a sold out show at the Manchester Apollo.

March 10, 1992: Love/Hate released their second studio album "Wasted In America" in North America (February '92 in the UK) which turned out to not be as successful as their debut, so to help album sales, lead singer Jizzy Pearl staged a publicity stunt where he and the band erected a cross on the letter 'Y' of the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles and performed a mock crucifixion. Jizzy was stuck on the cross, 60 feet in the air, for several hours when a TV news helicopter spotted him and the police and fire department were called to bring him down. He spent a few hours in jail and made headline news, but the publicity quickly faded with no noticeable impact on record sales. It did however, lead to the introduction of motion sensors on the sign. March 1986: Ahead of the release of their new album "Shadows Of War" in Japan, Loudness released "Let It Go" as the lead single. The album was retitled "Lightning Strikes" for its North American release in early May that year.

March 1988: Scottish hard rockers Heavy Pettin', who seemed perennially on the verge of making it, split up after recording an expensive album for Polydor that ended up not being officially released. -Kerrang!

March 10, 1989: A near capacity crowd on a warm Hollywood night watched Stryper with special guests Hurricane play Universal Amphiteatre in Southern California.

March 10, 1989: "Police Academy 6: City Under Siege" opened in US theaters. Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil had filmed a scene for the movie, but it wound up on the cutting-room floor. "Vince's acting potential? I don't know. That's hard to tell. He's very, very nice looking. He's got the hair for it. He's wearing his own wardrobe. He got the part simply because he was honest. The others tried to act, and the secret of film acting is not to appear to act at all but just to sort of exist." -Director Peter Bonerz

Kerrang! reported in March 1991 the Westminster Cororner's Court formal recording of the cause of death of Def Leppard guitarist Steve Clark. R.I.P.

March 1989: With frontman Axl Rose on the cover, "Band Of The Year" Guns N' Roses were featured in Hit Parader Magazine, along with Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Bon Jovi, Poison and more.
