Was Don Dokken going solo? Have the remaining members decided to regroup and call themselves Lynch Mob? Had Dokken really broken up? The band said "No, no and no" at the time, but the truth was sadly, yes. Kerrang! (December 1988)

December 1989: "I DON'T F**K the groupies, if that's what you want to know" said Kip Winger in a Kerrang! interview following Winger's 190 city tour supporting their debut album.

December 19, 1987: Originally written by David Coverdale for Tina Turner, Whitesnake power ballad "Is This Love" peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Not the traditional Whitesnake song, Coverdale would sometimes get nervous singing it.

December 19, 1987: Dokken's fourth studio album "Back For The Attack" peaked at No. 13 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Featuring singles "Burning Like A Flame", "Dream Warriors" and "Heaven Sent", it was the band's best-selling and highest charting release.

December 1989: Since its summer release, L.A. Guns had sold over 350,000 copies of their second album "Cocked & Loaded" with second single "Never Enough" now getting airplay on American rock radio and the music video on MTV. December 1983: Recently signed to EMI, Great White were in the studio with producer Michael Wagener recording their debut album, due out the first week of February 1984.

December 1989: The "Shocker" movie ended its theater run, but the soundtrack lived on with the release of power ballad "Timeless Love" as a single, sung by the "No. 1 new female vocalist of '89," Sandi Saraya. December 1986: After their first two albums went Top 10 in the US, RATT's third studio LP "Dancing Undercover" didn't fare as well, but still got to No. 26 and it was still the life for frontman Stephen Pearcy, who got the cover of Hit Parader and was featured in Circus.
