October 5, 1995: It was "Def Leppard Day" in the band's hometown of Sheffield, England where they were honored with a key to the city and a commemorative plaque placed at the location of some of their earliest gigs.

October 5, 1989: Mötley Crüe performed a warm-up show for the upcoming "Dr. Feelgood" Tour at Hollywood’s Whisky a Go Go. The "Kickstart My Heart" music video was filmed with comedian Sam Kinison playing Crue’s limo driver at the beginning.

October 5, 1985: KISS' 13th studio album "Asylum" debuted at No. 60 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Powered by hit single and MTV music video "Tears Are Falling", along with videos for "Who Wants To Be Lonely" and "Uh! All Night", the LP would rise to No 20.

October 5, 1991: Guns N' Roses "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" featuring Hot 100 hits "November Rain" (No. 5) and "Don't Cry" (No. 10), debuted in the top two spots on the US Billboard 200 album chart.

October 5, 1987: Continuing the slasher film trend created with previous LP "Constrictor", Alice Cooper released his 10th studio album "Raise Your Fist And Yell" in North America (October 19th in the UK), recorded with guitarist Kane Roberts and bassist Kip Winger.
