Hair Band History (October 31st)

With dream-stalking monster Freddy Krueger, "A Nightmare On Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors" was scaring us in 1987, but that was in February of that year, and Dokken's "Dream Warriors" from the soundtrack arrived a few weeks before the film.

October 31, 1988: Bon Jovi launched the massive worldwide "Jersey Syndicate" Tour in Dublin that would be grueling and exhausting for the band with over 200 shows. Lita Ford opened most European dates, Skid Row in North America.

October 31, 1985: MTV's "Halloween Horror Show" in Chicago featured a contest winner and friends attending a private party with Autograph and Mötley Crüe before seeing both bands in concert the next night.

October 31, 1987: Two months before signing a record deal with Columbia, Warrant played Halloween at Chuck Landis' Country Club in Reseda, California.

October 31, 1986: On Halloween, Van Halen played the first of four shows to conclude the "5150" Tour at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Fan memory: "Sammy was a NorCal guy and so everyone around here was stoked he was in the band even if we did miss DLR. This is the ad from the SF Chronicle for the show."

October 31, 1992: Def Leppard power ballad "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad", from the album "Adrenalize", peaked at No. 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

October 31, 1995: Def Leppard released their first greatest hits album "Vault" in North America (October 23rd in the UK), featuring songs you know and love played on HAIR BAND RADIO, plus one newly recorded song, "When Love & Hate Collide". October 31, 1991: Exactly what we may have been looking for back in the day, a "Rock N Roll Vampire Party!" on Halloween night with L.A. Guns performing at Universal Amphitheatre in Southern California.

It's Halloween, but these guys dressed like girls everyday in 1987 and it was totally cool because we loved Poison taking us "Back To The Rocking Horse" time and time again. ❤️
