October 24, 1986: Enigma Records shipped "To Hell With The Devil", the second studio album from Stryper. The original artwork was changed on later pressings to a basic black cover with the Stryper logo because someone was offended by four long haired angels throwing the devil into a fiery pit 🤷‍♂️ Featuring singles "Calling On You", "Free" and "Honestly", it was the first Christian metal album to go platinum in the US.

October 1988: Europe released "Open Your Heart" in the UK as the second single from the album "Out Of This World". An earlier version of the song also appeared on 1984's "Wings of Tomorrow" with identical lyrics, except for one verse. Late October 1988: KISS released the single "Let’s Put The X In Sex" in North America from the soon-to-be-released compilation album "Smashes, Thrashes & Hits". October 24, 1991: "Thursday Night Concerts" launched on US Pay-Per-View TV with a broadcast of a show on the "Cherry Pie" Tour aka "Blood Sweat & Beers" Tour featuring Warrant, Trixter and Firehouse. Images: Kerrang!

October 24, 1987: Alice Cooper's "Raise Your Fist And Yell" Tour with Faster Pussycat brought three straight nights of blood-soaked Metal-mayhem to Southern California where not all balloons were filled with confetti 😱

October 24, 1986: Starring Ozzy Osbourne as a preacher and Gene Simmons as a local DJ, "Trick Or Treat" the movie premiered in theaters in the US. Rumor has it, W.A.S.P.'s Blackie Lawless was originally cast to play the demonic rocker. Fastway recorded the soundtrack.

October 1990: From the "tell us how you really feel" file, Warrant's Jani Lane would have preferred the group invent a new name. In the December issue of Circus Magazine Jani complained, "I hate the name Warrant.... (before he joined the band) I heard they used to dress like cowboys and carry badges. Warrant is such a blasé name."
