September 18, 1983: In a public unveiling on MTV, KISS appeared for the first time without makeup to promote their new album "Lick It Up", in stores the following week. "We made the best of it, but I was scared stiff." -Gene Simmons

September 1987: McAuley Schenker Group released "Gimme Your Love" in North America as the lead single from their forthcoming debut album "Perfect Timing". September 18, 1988: "Edge Of A Broken Heart", the debut single from Vixen, was on the air often on American rock radio stations and about to get a big boost with the music video just added to the rotation at MTV.

September 18, 1989: Nearly a month after its release in North America, L.A. Guns fans in the UK could finally get their hands on the band's second studio album "Cocked And Loaded" featuring singles "Rip And Tear" and power ballad "The Ballad Of Jayne". September 1986: Over a year after its release in North America, "Call Of The Wild", the third studio album from Canadian rocker Lee Aaron, featuring power ballad "Barely Holdin' On", was available in the UK. September 18, 2006: Krokus released their 15th studio album "Hellraiser" in Europe (October 24th in North America) featuring power ballad single "Angel Of My Dreams". Release date source: Blabbermouth.net - August 10, 2006.

Despite some success in the states, Twisted Sister had to go abroad to get a record deal and indie label Secret Records issued the band's debut album "Under The Blade" in the UK in September 1982. Released in late March 1987 in North America, Whitesnake's self-titled album went triple platinum in US sales in less than six months. Featuring singles "Still Of The Night", "Here I Go Again", "Is This Love" and "Give Me All Your Love", the LP has sold 15x platinum as of 2017.
