September 10, 1988: Guns N’ Roses "Sweet Child O’ Mine", the third single from the album "Appetite For Destruction", hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it spent two weeks in the top spot. The song was written by Axl Rose about his ex-wife Erin Everly (model and daughter of Don Everly of the Everly Brothers). In 2019, the music video became the first '80s video to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.

September 10, 1988: A big summer hit, Van Halen power ballad "When It's Love", the second single from the album "OU812", peaked at No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

September 10, 1991: Tesla released their third studio album "Psychotic Supper" in North America (September 16th in the UK) featuring singles "Edison's Medicine", "Call It What You Want", "What You Give" and Steve Clark tribute "Song & Emotion" that made it a Top 15 LP in the US. September 1990: After reaching No. 2 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, Damn Yankees power ballad "High Enough" was crossing over to the Hot 100 and with the music video playing often on MTV, would reach the Top 5 in January 1991. Hitmakers radio trade publication ad - September 7, 1990

September 10, 1983: Def Leppard were pack 'em in on the "Pyromania" Tour as they landed in L.A. for the first of two shows at the Great Western Forum. The band flew their parents in from the UK to watch both shows and Queen's Brian May attended the first show before playing during the second night encore. Special guests backstage included David Lee Roth, Alex Van Halen, and Nancy Wilson of Heart.
