Early September 1984: Ahead of the release of their new album "Animalize", KISS issued "Heaven's On Fire" as the lead single. American rock radio got the track first in late August and it went on to become a US rock hit (peaked No. 11). The music video begins with a shot of Paul Stanley with his hands on fire.

September 1, 1990: Poison's "Unskinny Bop", the first single from the album "Flesh & Blood", peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100, their second highest charting single... "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" reached No. 1 in 1988.

September 1, 1989: The music video for Tesla's new single "Love Song" premiered on MTV in the US in late August and after only one week was a No. 13 request. Their second biggest hit, it would reach the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in January 1990.

September 1987: Faster Pussycat released "Bathroom Wall" as the follow-up to lead single "Don't Change That Song" from their self-titled debut album. The band performed the song in the 1988 film "The Decline Of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years".

September 1989: Touring with BulletBoys, L.A. rockers Bang Tango were on the rise with hit single "Someone Like You". The music video was a top 10 request on MTV all summer. R&R radio trade publication ad - September 1, 1989

September 1989: Two months after its release, sales of the self-titled debut album from Danger Danger were exploding with single "Naughty Naughty" receiving heavy airplay on many American radio stations... September 1989: With a Top 10 album "Twice Shy" and the first single "Once Bitten Twice Shy" two weeks removed from reaching No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100, Great White were at their peak of success.

September 1987: Whitesnake were white hot and seemed to be everywhere... "One of the most popular cartoons currently on American TV is 'GI Joe', wherein a secret US army fights a constant battle against the evil Cobra organisation. And in a recent episode, Cobra were heard to use the message 'The Whitesnake' will rule forever." -Kerrang!

September has arrived and so had Def Leppard in 1983 as their breakthrough album "Pyromania" was selling 100,000 copies a day and nearing 5x Platinum in the US. The third single "Foolin'" would hit the Billboard Hot 100 on September 3rd and reach the Top 30 in early November.
