August 27, 1988: MTV added the debut music video from Winger for the single "Madalaine". According to Kip Winger, it was one of the first four songs he and bandmate guitarist Reb Beach wrote when they first got together, based on a handful of riffs Reb had from when he was younger.

August 27, 1986: Van Halen with Sammy Hagar brought the "5150" Tour to New Haven, Connecticut, later released on video as "Live Without A Net". The performance of "Best Of Both Worlds" included a portion of Robert Palmer's hit "Addicted To Love".

August 27, 1987: After a warm-up in the Netherlands at the end of June, Def Leppard kicked off the "Hysteria" Tour for real in Dublin, Ireland. The "In The Round" stage was in the center of arenas with drummer Rick Allen in the middle.

August 27, 1988: Europe's fourth studio album "Out Of This World" debuted on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart at No. 76. Hit singles "Superstitious" and "Open Your Heart" would make the LP a Top 20 success in the US and Top 10 in six other countries.

August 27, 1991: American/British supergroup Bad English with members of Journey and The Babys, released their second and final studio album "Backlash" in North America and the UK, featuring single "Straight To Your Heart".
