August 22, 1989: L.A. Guns released their second studio album "Cocked And Loaded" in North America (September 18th in the UK) featuring singles "Rip And Tear", "Never Enough" and their biggest hit, power ballad "The Ballad Of Jayne" (reached No. 33 on the US Billboard Hot 100).

Late August 1989: Enuff Z'Nuff released their debut album featuring singles "New Thing" and "Fly High Michelle" with music videos in heavy rotation on MTV. Two other songs were later used in TV shows "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Northern Exposure".

August 22, 1985: Ratt released "You're In Love" as the second single from the album "Invasion Of Your Privacy". "I call it our 'love song,' but it's not. At all. It's kind of a 'danger zone' love scenario." -Stephen Pearcy. The music video features several love scene clips from classic movies and cartoons, plus concert footage shot in Biloxi, Mississippi and Shreveport, Louisiana. August 22, 1987: Two years after opening Donington's "Monsters Of Rock" Festival, Bon Jovi were now the headliner with DIO, Metallica, W.A.S.P. and Cinderella opening. "Slippery When Wet"... of course rain fell during Bon Jovi's set.
August 22, 1987: Def Leppard's latest "Hysteria" debuted at No. 36 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. It was a slow build, but all those hit singles to come... "Pour Some Sugar On Me", etc., would drive the LP to No. 1 the following year.
Def Leppard's "Animal" was the first single issued from the album "Hysteria" in the UK, where it peaked at No. 6 on August 22, 1987.

August 22, 1986: Members of KISS, Mötley Crüe, RATT, L.A. Guns and more topped a star-studded list of artists performing under the name the Party Ninjas at the Roxy in West Hollywood. The packed club watched Autograph and Mötley Crüe peform, followed by RATT members Stephen Pearcy, Robbin Crosby and Bobby Blotzer, along with KISS' Paul Stanley and Bruce Kulick.
August 1989: "L.A. Wildmen Come Back Strong With 'Twice Shy'", an interview with Great White frontman Jack Russell was featured in Hit Parader Magazine... "The music is the same kind of gritty, bluesy rock that people have grown to expect from us."
