August 16, 1986: Def Leppard played the "Monsters Of Rock Festival" at Castle Donington. Drummer Rick Allen returned to the stage for the first time since the accident that took his left arm. Scorpions and Ozzy were also on the bill, along with Warlock and frontwoman Doro Pesch, the first female to perform at the festival 🤘

August 16, 1991: Van Halen launched the "For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge" Tour in Atlanta, that now included "Jump" in the setlist. In his attempt to "forget" the band's past, Sammy Hagar had refused to sing it when he joined VH in 1985.

August 16, 1986: With guitarist Steve Vai, bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Gregg Bissonette, David Lee Roth launched the "Eat 'Em And Smile" Tour in Hampton, Virginia, his first since leaving Van Halen. Cinderella opened.

August 16, 1990: Winger launched the "In The Heart Of The Young" Tour in Huntsville, Alabama, the first of 142 shows that spanned 18 countries.

August 16, 1984: Krokus released their eighth studio album "The Blitz" worldwide featuring singles "Midnite Maniac", "Ballroom Blitz" (The Sweet cover) and "Our Love". August 1982: Ahead of the major label re-release of their debut album "Too Fast For Love", Elektra Records issued "Live Wire" as the first single from Mötley Crüe. The video shows Nikki Sixx setting himself on fire and Mick Mars drooling blood.

August 1989: Lee Aaron released "Whatcha Do To My Body" as the lead single from her forthcoming album "Bodyrock", which became her highest charting single in Canada (No. 25) and the music video nominated for "Video Of The Year".

August 16, 1988: Ahead of their performance at the "Monsters Of Rock" Festival at Castle Donington, KISS played a small-scale warm-up show at London's Marquee Club. "Who better to get dirty with than the original supreme hosts, the all-night rock 'n' rollers, the nice guys from the US who don't give a flying one?" -Kerrang!
