June 1987: Great White released their third studio album "Once Bitten" in North America (October 19th in the UK) featuring US Top 10 rock hit "Rock Me", power ballad "Save Your Love" and fan favorites "Lady Red Light" and "All Over Now" that brought them a broader audience.

Happy Birthday to Dokken singer Don Dokken (June 29, 1953).

June 29, 1985: RATT's second studio album "Invasion Of Your Privacy" debuted at No. 29 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. A hot get that summer with singles "Lay It Down" and "You're In Love", it would rise to No. 7 a month later. The band was on the road in the Midwest having just played Davenport, Iowa but you didn't have to wait to get your swag with mail order forms in most rock magazines.

June 29, 1991: Firehouse power ballad "Love Of A Lifetime" debuted at No. 81 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Millions of slow dances and makeout sessions later that summer, it would reach No. 5 in September.

June 29, 1991: Powered by singles "Monkey Business" and "Wasted Time", Skid Row's second album "Slave To The Grind" debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, the first metal album to do so in the Nielsen SoundScan era.

June 1986: Van Halen's "Dreams", the second single from the album "5150", was issued in the UK. Producer Mick Jones has said "I was able to push Sammy (Hagar) to new heights – literally. June 29, 1990: A US Top 30 hit in May, Faster Pussycat power ballad "House Of Pain", from their second album "Wake Me When It's Over", was issued as a single in the UK. Kerrang! ad - June 30, 1990

June 1986: Three years after the release of "Pyromania", Def Leppard were still working on the follow-up album (later titled "Hysteria"). That meant they also had not played a live show since the end of the "Pyromania" Tour, but that was about to change, with the band scheduled to perform at the Monsters Of Rock festival at Castle Donington in August that year. -Kerrang!
