May 28, 1987: Sammy Hagar released "Give To Live" in North America as the lead single from his forthcoming solo album "I Never Said Goodbye", issued while he was a member of Van Halen as a contractual obligation to his former record label. Late-May 1985: The first single "Lay It Down" had just been issued to American radio stations and RATT were getting close to releasing their second studio album "Invasion Of Your Privacy". Frontman Stephen Pearcy posted on social media in 2022, "I was helping with the art directing for the covers and had Marianne Gravatte doing a number of poses, many. I staged her and the room shots. So here’s an option then".

May 28, 1989: "5 Bands, 7 Hours Of Rock 'N Roll!!", Day 2 of the inaugural "World Series Of Rock" took place at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin with headliner Poison and special guests White Lion, Tesla, Winger and BulletBoys.

May 28, 1983: Rapidfire performed their last show with singer Axl Rose at Gazzarri’s in Los Angeles. Slash, who was then a member of his second band Roadcrew, was there that night, but the two wouldn't play together in the lineup that formed Guns N' Roses for another two years.

May 28, 1985: Canadian hard rockers Helix released their fifth studio album "Long Way To Heaven" in the US (one day earlier in Canada) featuring single "Deep Cuts The Knife" that received heavy American rock radio airplay. The LP went to No. 1 in Sweden and Top 30 in Canada. May 28, 1988: With catchy hooks and some humor, "Big Deal", the third studio LP from Canadian hard rockers Killer Dwarfs, featuring singles "We Stand Alone" and "Startin' To Shine", debuted on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. The band were later featured in Hit Parader Magazine.

Remembering Enuff Z'nuff guitarist [1988-94] Derek Frigo, who died May 28, 2004 at age 37. R.I.P.

May 28, 1991: L.A. rockers Junkyard released their second studio album Sixes, Sevens and Nines" featuring single "All The Time In The World". Bringing "elements of Southern rock, boogie-woogie, and AC/DCism into one compact sound," they drew comparisons to Guns N' Roses. Release date source: Kerrang! - March 9, 1991.

May 1991: Formed in Los Angeles during the last years of the glam movement, Kik Tracee released their debut album "No Rules" featuring "Don't Need Rules", "You're So Strange" and "Big Western Sky". Release information: Cashbox Magazine review - June 8, 1991.

May 28, 1983: Now headliners and "Pyromania" selling 100,000 copies a day, Def Leppard were on a rocket ship to super stardom as they toured North America that included Johnson City, Tennessee with special guest Krokus.

May 28, 1984: With special guests Bon Jovi, Scorpions brought the "Love At First Sting" Tour to Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan.
