May 27, 1988: The "Monsters Of Rock" 23-city Summer Stadium Tour launched at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy, Wisconsin with Scorpions, Dokken, Metallica, Kingdom Come and headliner Van Halen, the only band to perform after sunset.

May 27, 1984: The "American Rock Festival" in Michigan was "HEAVY METAL HEAVEN!!" for the unofficial start of summer. Memorial Day weekend was rockin' hard with Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Triumph, Accept, Night Ranger... And, tickets under $20! 👍

May 1988: After achieving fame on the L.A. club scene, the word was out that Warrant had signed a major label record deal with Columbia. They recorded their debut album "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" later that year and it was issued in January 1989.

May 27, 1990: Three weeks after performing their first live show together opening for KISS, Slaughter were now locked in... "They unleash more electricity than is found in many headline bands." -Kerrang!

May 27, 1989: The Cult's fourth studio album "Sonic Temple" peaked at No. 10 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Featuring singles "Fire Woman" and "Edie (Ciao Baby)", the LP also reached No. 2 in Canada and No. 3 in the UK.

May 27, 1988: With opener Lita Ford, Yngwie Malmsteen and new singer, former Rainbow vocalist Joe Lynn Turner, brought the "Odyssey" Tour to The Fillmore in San Francisco. The tour included 109 dates across 15 countries.

May 27/28, 1983: On the road with Krokus and Jon Butcher Axis, Def Leppard burned down two more towns, Knoxville and Johnson City, Tennessee on the "Pyromania" Tour.
