May 24, 1988: Van Halen released their eighth studio album (and second with Sammy Hagar) "OU812" in North America. Featuring singles "Black And Blue", "When It's Love", "Finish What Ya Started" and "Feels So Good", the LP reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. May 1985: RATT released "Lay It Down" in North America as the lead single from their forthcoming album "Invasion Of Your Privacy". "Wait, Stephen! Don't forget to make a wish." May 24, 1991: After performing at "Rock In Rio II" in January and three club shows, Guns N' Roses launched the "Use Your Illusion" Tour in East Troy, Wisconsin, one of the longest concert tours for any band in rock history... 194 shows in 27 countries.

May 24, 1994: Poison's Bret Michaels lost control of his Ferrari and crashed into a telephone pole in Burbank, California, suffering a broken nose, ribs, jaw and fingers, plus losing four teeth. According to police reports, he passed out behind the wheel while driving.

May 24, 1999: Def Leppard released "Promises" in North America as the lead single from their forthcoming album "Euphoria" (July 12, 1999 in the UK), where it reached number one on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. May 1988: Frehley's Comet with former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley, released their second studio album "Second Sighting" in North America and the UK featuring singles and music videos "Insane" and "It's Over Now". May 1986: Two months after the North American release of "Turbo", Judas Priest were touring the US and selling big. The "Fuel For Life" Tour would burn on to the East Coast and Texas in June '86 and a remix of "Turbo Lover" was on the way.

May 1990: San Francisco rockers Babylon A.D. released "The Kid Goes Wild" as a single from their self-titled debut album. The song was also featured in the film "RoboCop 2". Release information source: [US] The Hard Report radio trade publication ad - May 25, 1990.

They changed their name to "The Hunger" for a little while, but returned to the moniker "Silent Rage", that first brought them recognition as the winners of KNAC's "Ten Best From The West" competition in 1987 after teaming up with producer/artist Paul Sabu for their first critically acclaimed CD, "Shattered Hearts". A year later, they were signed to Gene Simmons record label and in May 1989 released the album "Don't Touch Me There" featuring single "Rebel With A Cause". May 1990: Hit Parader's "Hot Metal Stars" Magazine featured all dudes except for Lita Ford, who of course got the cover.
