May 23, 1987: A year and one week after its release, Poison's debut album "Look What The Cat Dragged In" peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, thanks to hit singles "Talk Dirty To Me", "I Want Action" and "I Won't Forget You".

May 23, 1989: L.A. rockers Junkyard released their debut album in North America (one month earlier in the UK) featuring singles "Hollywood" and "Simple Man". Bringing "elements of Southern rock, boogie-woogie, and AC/DCism into one compact sound," they've drawn comparisons to Guns N' Roses. May 1979: Featuring "Disco Rock" hit "I Was Made for Lovin' You", co-written by Desmond Child who went on to write some of the biggest hair band hits from Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper and more, KISS released their seventh studio album "Dynasty" in North America. May 23, 1995: Bon Jovi released "This Ain’t A Love Song" in North America as the lead single from their forthcoming album "These Days". The music video was shot in Thailand and a Spanish version of the song was also recorded, "Como Yo Nadie Te Ha Amado". May 23, 1989: Poison's "Open Up And Say...Ahh" Tour arrived in Bloomington, Minnesota with support from Tesla and Warrant.

May 23, 1986: "Glam Rock '86", Poison's Bret Michaels & Jetboys' Mickey Finn were on the cover of BAM magazine. Poison had just released their debut album one week earlier. We wouldn't hear Jetboy's debut "Feel The Shake" until October 1988.
