May 13, 1989: Bon Jovi's third single from the "New Jersey" album, power ballad "I'll Be There For You", hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, their fourth and final number one song.

May 13, 1989: On the rise Warrant with openers House Of Lords and Pretty Boy Floyd played the Universal Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.

May 13, 1990: Skid Row played a few dates Down Under including The Palace Complex in Melbourne, Australia. The entire tour promoting their debut album would end three days later in Auckland, New Zealand.

May 13, 1996: Def Leppard released their sixth studio album "Slang" in Europe (May 14th US, May 15th Canada). A departure from their classic sound, it was the first Def Leppard album since 1980 not produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange. May 13, 2008: Dokken released their tenth studio album "Lightning Strikes Again" in North America (April 11th in Europe). The title comes from a track on 1985's "Under Lock and Key". May 13, 1985: Formerly known as Trojan, British rockers Shy released their debut album "Brave The Storm" in the UK, a success in their home country despite the single "Hold On (To Your Love)" being disqualified from the charts, as early copies included a shrink-wrapped T-shirt. Susie Hatton, the star of Poison's "Fallen Angel" music video, dated Poison lead singer Bret Michaels from 1988 to 1993. Bret produced her 1991 debut album "Body And Soul" featuring single and music video "Blue Monday". Susie also played Maxine Racine on Baywatch in 1989. May 13, 1986: KISS frontman Paul Stanley went to check out a new, upcoming band called "Guns N' Roses" at Raji’s in Hollywood, California. Paul was being considered to produce the band's debut album that would ultimately become "Appetite For Destruction".
