February 14, 1987: Bon Jovi hit No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with "Livin' On A Prayer", their second consecutive No. 1 single from the album "Slippery When Wet". It held the top spot for four weeks.

February 1990: Mötley Crüe released power ballad "Without You" in North America as the third single from the album "Dr. Feelgood", their second highest charting single at No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100. February 1991: Queenrÿche released what turned out to be their biggest hit single, "Silent Lucidity". It reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Rock chart and No. 9 on the Hot 100. February 14, 1984: After playing Charlotte two weeks earlier, Van Halen brought the "1984" Tour back to the Queen City for a second show on Valentine's Day. This happened despite someone in the audience at the first show throwing a smoke bomb or something at David Lee Roth, which fell near Alex Van Halen's drums. The band stopped the music and wanted this person to come up onstage, but they did not so DLR and Eddie Van Halen shared a drink and moved on 😎

February 14, 1987: Europe performed at 99 shows in 14 countries on the "Final Countdown" Tour, including Jaap Edenhal, an indoor ice rink in Amsterdam.

February 14, 1992: Pretty Boy Floyd performed at The Omni in Oakland, California.

Lita Ford released her sixth studio album "Black" in 1995 featuring a change of style to more blues and grunge, while still maintaining her metal and rock roots. This was her last studio album until 2009's "Wicked Wonderland".

February 14, 1992: The movie "Wayne's World" opened in US theaters. The studio originally wanted to use a Guns N' Roses song for the head banging scene but Mike Myers demanded "Bohemian Rhapsody", even threatening to quit production.

February 1983: Two years before he joined Van Halen, Sammy Hagar was featured in the UK's Kerrang! Magazine "currently riding high in America, finds it all as easy as one, two, three with his latest album "Three Lock Box".
