January 1, 1986: With the "World Infestation" Tour coming to Japan in the Spring, RATT were on the cover of Music Life Magazine. After playing San Diego on New Year's Eve, the band took a month off before resuming in the UK opening for Ozzy.
January 1, 1988: Skid Row's classic lineup played their first show in a now-defunct Toronto club called Rock N' Roll Heaven. Shortly after, they signed with Atlantic Records and released their debut album the following year.
January 1985: While still officially lead singer for Van Halen, David Lee Roth released Beach Boys cover "California Girls" as the lead single from his forthcoming debut solo EP "Crazy From The Heat". Release information source: [US] The Gavin Report radio trade publication ad - January 11, 1985.
January 1992: "Scandinavian melodic rock kings" Europe were close to restarting the "Prisoners In Paradise" Tour in Finland. UK dates were planned for March plus a new single "I'll Cry For You" out on January 20th. Kerrang! - December 21, 1991
January 1, 1988: After a New Year's Eve show in Dayton, Ohio, tireless KISS brought the "Crazy Nights" World Tour to Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tennessee.
