The first single issued off the debut album from Firehouse in September 1990 was "Shake & Tumble", which enjoyed some success, but radio really jumped on the next single in December, and "Don't Treat Me Bad" went on to become a US Top 15 hit. December 1985: The music video for "The Hunter", the first single from Dokken's latest album "Under Lock And Key", was about to hit MTV in the US. The just issued LP was a big seller out of the gate and would debut on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart on December 21st.

L.A. Guns' power ballad "The Ballad Of Jayne" was a late-blooming hit in the US, reaching the Top 40 in June 1990, but for some reason it wasn't released in the UK until December 9, 1991. Release date source: Kerrang! - December 7, 1991.

December 9, 1989: With their debut album just released in the UK, Dangerous Toys opened for Faster Pussycat in Glasgow as part of the Yanks tour of the island that ended in London four days later.

Happy Birthday to Firehouse drummer Michael Foster (December 9, 1964).

December 9, 1986: Launched a week earlier in Augusta, Georgia, RATT brought the "Dancing Undercover" World Tour (often referred to as a "World Party" on stage by singer Stephen Pearcy) to Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. Cheap Trick were the opening act on the '86 shows, then Poison in '87 with Queensrÿche also opening on select dates.

December 9, 1986: Touring the US West Coast with David Lee Roth, Cinderella played Spokane, Washington. With their debut album "Night Songs" a certified smash, the band had arrived, and frontman Tom Keifer got the cover of Circus Magazine later that month.
