Hair Band History (December 29th)

December 1984: Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx was on the cover of Japan's Burrn! Magazine. The "Shout At The Devil" Tour wrapped a month earlier and the band was getting ready to head into the studio to record "Theatre Of Pain".

December 29, 1982: KISS launched the "Creatures Of The Night/10th Anniversary" Tour in Bismarck, North Dakota, their first show with new guitarist Vinnie Vincent who replaced Ace Frehley.

December 29, 1983: Kerrang! reported on Def Leppard's "Pyromania" Tour wrap party following their December 5th show at London's Hammersmith Odeon. "Naturally, the place was packed with the famous and the not-so-famous all anxious to help da Lepps booze'n'scoff into the wee hours." The band had to keep their wits about them since they still had two shows in West Germany in two weeks. The "Pyromania" Tour would end in February 1984 in Thailand.

TNT released their self-titled debut album in Norway in 1982 ('83 in Europe), their only LP sung entirely in Norwegian. Two years later, the first half of the album was re-recorded in English and released as an EP.

December 29, 1991: Skid Row and Pantera played Atlanta. "They were the craziest. I warm up my voice doing scales, all this boring vocal stuff, and they would warm up by doing 14 shots of Crown Royal. 'We're ready! Let's go!'" -Sebastian Bach

December 29, 1983: KISS brought the "Lick It Up" Tour to Lakeland, Florida. A local newspaper review noted the positivity of the changes in the band's personnel after removing the makeup and praised the performance of "I Love It Loud", citing it as a song to capsulize the revitalized band's performance to 6,000 fans that night.

December 1990: RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini was on the cover of Guitar Magazine that inside featured transcription for the band's Top 20 US rock hit "Lovin' You's A Dirty Job" from the "Detonator" album. After playing Houston on the 20th, RATT took a break for Christmas before returning to the road New Year's Eve in Boston.
