Hair Band History (December 22nd)
As we approach the holidays, we're reflecting on the past year... Actually, 1983 😊 and Def Leppard's "Pyromania" album pretty much owned that year. So many great songs...
December 1990: Bon Jovi were heading to Japan for a short tour and Jon Bon Jovi stated then if the band had fun they would begin writing a new album in the Spring, but if not, he would "cool it and pursure a solo career." 😏
December 22, 1984: Autograph's "Turn Up The Radio" was a big hit on American rock radio and was now crossing over to Top 40 as the song debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100. It would reach the Top 30 in March 1985.
Netherlands rockers Sleeze Beez released their third studio album "Powertool" in North America in 1992, featuring power ballad "I Don't Want to Live Without You".
December 1984: After some time off, Lita Ford's tour bus was on its way to Southern California to join RATT for three shows in San Diego, San Bernardino and Long Beach.
After Skid Row were kicked off Bon Jovi's "Jersey Syndicate" Tour in 1989, there was no love lost between the frontmen of both bands and some dandy quotes from Skid Row's Sebastian Bach made Kerrang! Magazine's annual "They Said What?!?" list, including "I think he should decide what he wants to be. Is he in the mafia? Is he a cowboy? Is he an indian? Is he a f**king prizefighter?" (in response to Bach's angry rant against Jon Bon Jovi during his set that Bach has said led to Bon Jovi throwing an errant punch at him) 🍿 In 2006, Bach and Bon Jovi had a chance meeting in a London bar, where Bach has said the two hugged like old friends... "Jon took a chance on me and our band. I will always be indebted to him for that." -UCR
December 22, 1990: Judging by this photo in Kerrang!, it appeared to be marital bliss for Whitesnake's David Coverdale and actress Tawny Kitaen, star of several Whitesnake videos including "Here I Go Again". However, they would divorce four months later. R.I.P. Tawny.
