December 1989: "He's Big, He's Blonde, And He's Out To Save The World!", White Lion's Mike Tramp was on the cover of Rock Scene Magazine along with Danger Danger, Tesla, Nikki Sixx and "Guitar Gods" Reb (Winger) and Richie (Bon Jovi).

December 16, 1985: KISS brought the "Asylum" Tour home to New York City for a really big show at Madison Square Garden, the band's bright and colorful outfits described by Kerrang! as "wandering minstrels (1980s style)" 😘

December 16, 1989: "Your Daddy don't approve", or maybe he did because Bon Jovi's fifth and final single "Living In Sin" from the "New Jersey" album was another Top 10 hit for the band, peaking at No. 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

December 16, 1989: Powered by singles "Fool For Your Loving", "The Deeper The Love" and "Now You're Gone", Whitesnake's eighth studio album "Slip Of The Tongue" peaked at No. 10 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

December 16, 1989: Kix power ballad "Don't Close Your Eyes" had a great run on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, just missing the Top 10 when it peaked at No. 11.

December 16, 1989: Nashville hard rockers Giant debuted on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart with "Innocent Days", the second single from their debut album "Last Of The Runaways", that would become their second Top 15 rock hit.

December 16, 1987: Mötley Crüe played the first of three consecutive sold-out nights at Budokan Hall in Tokyo. They were originally scheduled to resume the "Girls, Girls, Girls" tour in Europe in January 1988, but after Nikki Sixx's near-fatal overdose, manager Doc McGhee canceled everything and sent the whole band to rehab. Mötley didn't play live again until the Moscow Music Peace Festival in the summer of 1989, where they ironically fired McGhee, who had quite possibly saved their lives a year and a half earlier. 😏

December 16, 1985: After shows in Puerto Rico and Jackson, Mississippi, the "World Infestation" Tour with RATT and Bon Jovi arrived in Texas for a show in Fort Worth, then Dallas a night later. One fan wrote "I was there too, Reunion Arena Dec. 1985.. Ratt kicked ass that night, but I was surprised by how small the stage was for Bon Jovi... they weren't exactly a small band during this period. BTW Mötley filmed parts of the video for 'Home Sweet Home' at Reunion Arena a couple months prior to this."

December 16, 1989: Released in North America in early October, Pretty Boy Floyd's debut album "Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz" featuring "Rock And Roll (Is Gonna Set The Night On Fire)" and "I Wanna Be With You" was close to being issued in Europe and that got the band the cover of Kerrang!... "The more money we get, the more make-up you're gonna see!" boasts singer Steve Summers.
