September 16, 1985: KISS released their 13th studio album "Asylum", their first with lead guitarist Bruce Kulick as an official band member and featuring hit single and MTV music video "Tears Are Falling". "I THINK this new album will be our biggest one... EVER!!" -Paul Stanley (as told to Kerrang! - August 22, 1985).

September 16, 1989: With three Top 40 hit singles "Heaven" (No. 2), "Down Boys" (No. 27) and "Sometimes She Cries" (No. 20), Warrant's debut album "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" peaked at No. 10 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart.

September 16, 1985: Produced by Bruce Fairbairn (Bon Jovi) and modifying their hard-edge sound for a more polished hard rock approach, Black 'N Blue released their second studio album "Without Love" in North America featuring single "Miss Mystery". September 16, 1989: L.A. Guns' second studio album "Cocked And Loaded" debuted at No. 89 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Featuring singles "Rip And Tear", "Never Enough" and "The Ballad Of Jayne", the LP would reach the Top 40 in July 1990. The ad below appeared in Billboard Magazine on September 23, 1989.

September 1989: Tora Tora released "Guilty" as the second single from their debut album "Surprise Attack". September 16, 1986: Promoting their latest album "QR III", Quiet Riot rolled into Binghamton, New York for a show at Broome County Arena with special guest Keel.

September 16, 1988: Scorpions brought the "Savage Amusement" Tour to Montreal for the first of three Canadian dates that included Toronto three days later. Kingdom Come opened until late September.
