August 30, 1986: Powered by the first single "You Give Love A Bad Name", the No. 1 most requested song at American rock radio, Bon Jovi's new album "Slippery When Wet" was the hot get. August 1985: Don Dokken was on the cover of Circus Magazine... "How they rose from the scrapyard to the top of the rock heap", along with features on RATT, Mötley Crüe and the Twisted Sister animal house with Dee Snider's "boa constrictor".

August 30, 1987: RATT performed in Germany for the first time as part of the "Monsters Of Rock" Festival in Nürnberg and Pforzheim. The second show was recorded and bootlegged as "RATT Undercover Monsters".

August 30, 1983: Def Leppard played Detroit with special guest Krokus who were thrown off the "Pyromania" Tour for (according to Krokus) providing too much competition for Def Leppard, who countered the tour contract ended with Detroit 🙃

August 30, 1986: David Lee Roth's debut studio album "Eat 'Em and Smile" peaked at No. 4 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and that same day, single "Yankee Rose" peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100. A good summer for DLR.

August 1985: From their third studio album "7 Wishes", Night Ranger had a rock hit in the US with "Four In The Morning", and now the track was crossing over to the American Top 40, where it would go on to reach the Top 20 in October that year. R&R radio trade publication ad - August 30, 1985

August 1989: American/British supergroup Bad English with members of Journey and The Babys released "When I See You Smile" in North America as the second single from their debut album. August 30, 1988: KISS released "Turn On The Night" as the third single from the album "Crazy Nights" in the UK (February '88 in North America) along with "Crazy Nights The Videos" that featured all their hit music videos from the "Crazy Nights" album.

August 30, 1990: KISS were scheduled to play Casper, Wyoming as part of the "Hot In The Shade" Tour with special guests Winger and Slaughter, but four days earlier in Salina, Kansas, Paul Stanley ran into the guardrail on stage and cracked his ribs, resulting in some shows being canceled.
