August 2, 1986: Released in May, Poison's debut album "Look What The Cat Dragged In" debuted on the US Billboard 200 album chart at No. 197. It was a slow build, but with big hit singles, including "Talk Dirty To Me", the LP would rise to No. 3.

August 2, 1990: Mötley Crüe brought the "Dr. Feelgood" tour with special guest Lita Ford to McNichols Arena in Denver.

"Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives" opened in US theaters the first weekend of August 1986. The soundtrack featured new songs from Alice Cooper including "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask)" and "Teenage Frankenstein" with both also appearing on the forthcoming "Constrictor" album due a month later. August 1986: Keel released "Tears Of Fire" as the second single from the album "The Final Frontier". The MTV music video shows Ron Keel singing as he sits on a tour bus and later performs on stage with the band. August 1983: Cobra released their debut album "First Strike" featuring single and music video shown on MTV in the US, "Blood On Your Money". The band was fronted by Jami Jamison who went on to sing for Survivor. Release information source: The Commercial Appeal (Memphis) - August 1983.

L.A. hard rockers London released their second studio album "Don't Cry Wolf" in 1986. The band was originally co-founded by Mötley Crüe's Nikki Sixx and briefly included Blackie Lawless before he formed W.A.S.P.

Formed in Hollywood, California in 1990, Heavy Bones released their only album in August 1992. Produced by Richie Zito (White Lion, Tyketto, Poison, Ratt), the LP received some radio airplay, but had arrived a little late on the scene and the band ceased to exist later that year.
