July 7, 1986: With guitarist Steve Vai, bassist Billy Sheehan and drummer Gregg Bissonette, David Lee Roth released his debut studio album "Eat 'Em And Smile" in North America (the same week in the UK) featuring singles "Yankee Rose" (US Top 20), "Goin' Crazy!" and "That's Life".

July 7, 1985: Mötley Crüe launched the "Theatre Of Pain" Tour with four shows at Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo, their first time performing in Japan. Vince and Tommy were mobbed by fans in a McDonalds.

July 1986: Rough Cutt released their second studio album "Wants You!" in North America (September '86 in the UK). The band didn't achieve the commercial success enjoyed by other L.A. bands of that time, but various members went on to success in other groups, including Jake E. Lee (Ozzy). Happy Birthday to Firehouse co-founder and former bassist [1989-2000] Perry Richardson (July 7, 1958).

Remembering original Shy singer [1980-93] Tony Mills, who would have celebrated a birthday today (July 7, 1962). Tony died in 2019. R.I.P.

July 7, 1990: Just shy of a year after the release of his 11th studio album "Trash", featuring hit single "Poison", Alice Cooper was celebrated in this Billboard Magazine ad... "His biggest and best year ever."

July 1988: Whitesnake, Dokken and Aerosmith were on the cover of Hit Parader's Heavy Metal Hot Shots Magazine. If you wanted to see photos back then you would hang out in the store for awhile or buy the mag because you wanted the super foldouts!
