June 20, 1990: Poison released "Unskinny Bop" as the lead single from their forthcoming album "Flesh & Blood" in North America (June 22nd in the UK). It would go on to become their second highest charting single in the US, reaching No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. June 1987: MTV added the music video for Europe's "Carrie" as a 'Sneak Preview', the next single from "The Final Countdown" album. It would become the band's highest-charting song on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 3 on August 22, 1987.

June 20, 1985: Bon Jovi launched the North American leg of the "7800° Fahrenheit" Tour with a headline show in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They played two more as the main act, then opened for RATT on the "World Infestation" Tour in July.

June 20, 1987: Texxas Jam '87 in Dallas had Aerosmith, Whitesnake and Tesla on the bill, along with Poison who were joined on stage by KISS' Paul Stanley for a cover of "Strutter". Some of the footage was used in the "I Won't Forget You" music video.

June 20, 1988: Traveling east to west, Def Leppard (with support from Europe) were making their way across Canada with the red hot "Hysteria" Tour that included a stop in Calgary.

June 1989: Mr. Big released their self-titled debut album featuring rock radio hit "Addicted To That Rush" and should've been a pop hit "Anything For You". June 1989: Philadelphia's Tangier released their second and most successful album "Four Winds" featuring singles "On The Line" and "Ripcord". June 20, 1988: German rockers Bonfire released "Sweet Obsession" in the UK as the first single from their second studio album "Fireworks". The music video was filmed at London's Marquee Club during the band's debut UK show on March 22, 1988. Release date source: Kerrang! - June 4, 1988.

June 1985: Hit Parader Magazine in the US reported that Van Halen were "preparing material for next vinyl opus." In fact, "Vocalist David Lee Roth has been working on songs for the album since his journey to New Guinea late last year and reports that 'there's some real hot stuff ready.' Guitarist Edward Van Halen has been spending long stretches in his home studio putting together various 'noises' that the band hopes to make use of on the still un-titled disc. No, it definitely won't be called '1985'." Less than two months later, Eddie would say "the band as you know it is over".
