Ahead of the release of their new album "Girls, Girls, Girls", Mötley Crüe issued the title track in North America as the first single in early May 1987. May 1982: Almost a year after the release of their second album "High 'N' Dry" and while the band was recording "Pyromania", the music video for Def Leppard power ballad "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" began airing in the US on a fledgling MTV.

Spring 1983: After the Runaways broke up in 1979, Lita Ford set out on a solo career and four years later released her debut album "Out For Blood" in North America (July '83 in the UK). The original spider web blood-spurting guitar cover art was replaced on future pressings.

May 1, 1990: Swedish rockers with a little bit of funk, Electric Boys, released their debut album "Funk-O-Metal Carpet Ride" in North America (May 21st in the UK), featuring US Top 20 rock hit "All Lips 'N Hips" and follow-up "Psychedelic Eyes".

Happy Birthday to Danger Danger bassist, guitarist and main composer Bruno Ravel (May 1, 1964). Bruno originally played with White Lion and guested as a backing vocalist on Warrant's Cherry Pie album.

Happy Birthday to former Trixter drummer Mark "Gus" Scott (May 1, 1968).

May 1, 1990: Great White launched an eight-show tour of Japan with the first of two concerts at Kan-i Hoken Hall in Tokyo.

May 1, 1992: With the success of their third album "Psychotic Supper", Tesla moved to headliner status and were supported by Firehouse for a show in Philadelphia.
