April 22, 1985: "American hot rock" band Bon Jovi released their second studio album "7800° Fahrenheit" in North America (April 26th in the UK), the title a reference to the supposed melting point of rock in the US, the only country that measures temperature in Fahrenheit. By the way, the equivalent in Celcius is 4313° 🥵

April 22, 1987: The new Whitesnake album was now available in Japan, but instead of "Whitesnake" the title is "Serpens Albus" in reference to the illustrated text on the album's artwork, which means "white serpent or white snake" in Latin.

April 22, 1990: MTV held a contest and Van Halen performed at the grand opening of their own Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The club struggled early and Sammy Hagar bought out the rest of the band, but in later years it became a huge success.

April 22, 2010: Poison singer Bret Michaels was rushed to a hospital after suffering a brain hemorrhage that nearly killed him. He told People Magazine he thought a burglar had shot him. He recovered in intensive care for nearly two weeks.

April 22, 1991: Tesla's cover of Five Man Electrical Band's "Signs" was released in the UK. The song had just hit the Top 10 in America and Kerrang! wondered how? "The tune's a good one, but there are almost as many 'f**ks on it as on Guns N' Roses 'You're F**kin' Crazy'". Apparently, they had not heard the radio edit yet 😁

April 22, 1985: "Heavenly Metal" for the West coast USA as Stryper began a run of dates at the Pioneer Theatre in Reno, Nevada.

April 22, 1996: Def Leppard released the title track as the lead single from their forthcoming album "Slang" in the UK, a departure from their signature sound, but a Top 20 hit in the band's home country. Release information source: Debuted UK Official singles chart - May 4, 1996.

April 23, 2014: Winger released their sixth studio album, "Better Days Comin'" featuring single "Rat Race". Release date source: Blabbermouth.net - February 26, 2014.

April 1989: Tuff were one of the biggest drawing bands in Hollywood, but having a tough time getting a record deal, which might've come down to singer Stevie Rachelle's uncanny resemblance to another famous frontman.

Kerrang! reported that Faster Pussycat found themselves in hot water after playing La Semana Alegre in San Antonio on April 22, 1990, that led to the arrest of frontman Taime Downe and guitarist Brent Muscat.

April 1984: We learned about the time RATT guitarist Robbin Crosby popped out into the audience during a gig in Boise, Idaho and puffed on a fan's joint before being arrested by a cop standing nearby. Robbin was eventually bailed out of jail by Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee.
