February 9, 1983: "I'd like you to meet our new guitarist..." After leaving the band Girl, Phil Collen played his first show with Def Leppard at the Marquee Club in London, a warm up for the "Pyromania" Tour that began two days later in Dublin.

February 9, 1985: Autograph made an appearance on American Bandstand to perform (er, mime) their big hit "Turn Up The Radio". Interviewed by Dick Clark, it was noted there are three guys in the band named "Steve".

Happy Birthday to Skid Row co-founder, bassist and main songwriter, Rachel Bolan (February 9, 1966).

February 1992: With Vixen having disbanded, drummer Roxy Petrucci attempted to reform her first band Madam X with her sister Maxine and singer Lenita Erickson, but it didn't work out. Vixen reformed in 1997. -Kerrang!

February 1987: Two months after being available in North America, UK rockers were able to get their hands on Tesla's debut album "Mechanical Resonance" featuring singles "Little Suzi", "Gettin' Better" and "Modern Day Cowboy". Release information source: Kerrang! ad - February 5, 1987.

K-Tel released "White Hot - An All Out Metal Assault" in 1985 featuring Scorpions, Bon Jovi, KISS, Autograph, Krokus, Y&T, Lee Aaron and more. You could purchase the LP or listen in your car on a chrome cassette tape 👍

February 1986: Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx was on the cover of Kerrang! Magazine and the poster inside was an Özzy Nüde Centrespread! 😯😁
