January 1988: Lita Ford released "Kiss Me Deadly" as the lead single from her forthcoming album "Lita", one of two songs on the LP she didn't write... January 12, 1991: Damn Yankees peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 with "High Enough", their only Top 10 song "about how you love someone so much and you just don't want to scare them away." -co-lead vocalist Jack Blades

January 12, 1987: Europe released "Rock The Night" as the second single from the album "The Final Countdown" in the UK (Feb. '87 in North America). The band would perform in the UK for the first time a month later. Release information source: Kerrang! ad - January 23, 1987.

January 1988: McAuley Schenker Group released "Love Is Not A Game" as the second single from their debut album "Perfect Timing". The follow up to lead single "Gimme Your Love" was another US Top 50 rock hit for the band. Release information source: Kerrang! ad - January 23, 1988.

With a sound similar to early Dokken, Razormaid from Reno, Nevada released their only album "First Cutt" in 1987, featuring single "Too Late". Missed in the '80s they've been found with 23 reviews of the LP on Amazon (4.8 stars).

January 12, 1986: With support from Dokken, Twisted Sister had restarted the "Come Out And Play" Tour four days earlier with shows in New York and Maine and were now set to perform at Veteran's Memorial Coliseum in New Haven, Connecticut.

With their debut album "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" set to hit US record stores at the end of January 1989, Warrant celebrated with a record release party gig at The Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip.

January 1989: Jon Bon Jovi was on the cover of Hit Parader Magazine. The issue included a Whitesnake Centerfold and you could win a VCR!
