January 19, 1984: Bon Jovi released their debut album in North America (March '84 in the UK) featuring singles "Runaway" and "She Don't Know Me", the latter being the only song in the entire Bon Jovi catalog not written by a band member.

January 1989: Lita Ford was on the cover of France's Hard Rock Magazine with the headline "Sort Ses Griffes" which Google translates to "Pull Out His Claws" 😬

January 1991: Winger released the single "Easy Come Easy Go" in North America. According to Kip Winger the song was a late addition, written because it was felt that there were not enough rock songs on the album, "In The Heart Of The Young". January 1992: Def Leppard completed work on their latest album "Adrenalize" due in March that year. Longtime producer Mutt Lange was busy with other projects, so the band self-produced the LP, recorded at Joe Elliott's house in Dublin.

January 19, 1988: White Lion played the UK for the first time with the first of three shows at the Marquee Club in London.

Happy Birthday to former Dokken bassist Jeff Pilson (January 19, 1959).

January 19, 1991: Warrant had dropped off Poison's "Flesh & Blood" World Tour two weeks earlier, but were still appearing in ads. They were replaced by Don Dokken for this show in Vancouver.

January 19, 1985: On the road in the US promoting "The Blitz" album, Krokus joined KISS on the "Animalize" World Tour for 17 shows that included Nashville.

January 19, 1981: Canadian rockers April Wine released their ninth studio album "The Nature Of The Beast" featuring power ballad "Just Between You And Me" that reached No. 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. January 19, 1988: "Matthew John Trippe filed a complaint for 'civil theft and other relief' against" Mötley Crüe management (McGhee Entertainments Inc) alleging he was "for a period of time, between 1983 and 1985, 'Nikki Sixx' - a member of Mötley Crüe." This was a weird story and Kerrang! did their best to explain it all in the March 12, 1988 issue.
